writing and maintaining a good Lifestyle profile

ActiveCouple ·

Mrs. Active and I strive to be as honest with ourselves as possible in our everyday lives. In turn we also are honest with those we interact with. Not just in the Lifestyle, but in our lives as a whole. I tend to be the one who is the “Take me as I am” type of person while my bride tends to be “The Pleaser”, taking every measure to make sure everyone is happy and having a good time. It’s her instinct to do so. And part of her charm.

No matter whom we are as a couple, we are always honest with ourselves, and that’s exactly how we approach our Lifestyle profile as well. It’s an extension of us: our digital manifestation that tells anyone in the Lifestyle who we are and what our likes and dislikes tend to be; what our personality traits are; what kind of play we enjoy; soft swap or full, etc. And so in that fashion, your digital Lifestyle profile should be “You 101”. You want to be informative as to who you are and what are interested in. Don’t be afraid to get detailed! And keep in mind that while you're doing all of this, you still need to stand out from the crowd.

I’ve heard someone liken Lifestyle profiled to fishing lured.

I would disagree.

Who wants to end up with a hook in their mouth, with no real reward for pursuing something or someone that caught your attention? Instead, I like to think of our profile as a digital copy of our life in the Lifestyle. Or the metaphorical balloon tied to the rear view mirror of that sleek & shiny vehicle parked at the automotive dealership that says “Hey!! Look at me!! I could be yours if the price is right.”

We all take a chance when we bother to reach out to someone as a result of their profile, as there’s always a chance that there might not be that initial chemistry we all worry about so much. Then there is the risk of going out on date and getting stood up. Regardless of the risks, your profile should be the truest reflection of who you are as a single male, single female, or couple. Doing this puts the nonnegotiable “price” right on the window sticker.

How easy is it to be transparent? Well, that’s a subjective question. For us it’s quite easy, especially since we like to be completely honest. Don’t be afraid to be very frank in what you write in your profile, but strive to make it as personable and polite as you can. As the one who maintains our profile on a regular basis, I make it a point to be concise while also making it clear that not all couples will find us to be their sexual cup of tea.

The reverse could be true as well. But, we also make it a point to invite anyone and everyone to reach out to us. Because to us, the Lifestyle isn’t just about promiscuous sex with attractive people. It’s also about making new friends.

And let us not forget about discretion. Many of us obviously want to keep this portion of our lives out of the family, vanilla friends, and coworkers spotlight. So, be as discreet as you feel you need to be. You can make your profile so that no one can see it without your consent or you can make it so your profile is only seen by people who have become “friends” with. And some are comfortable just being out there. Whatever your comfort level, just make sure you’re honest in how you present yourself.

And when it comes to pictures in your profile gallery try to keep them current. We make sure that none of our pictures are older than a year or so. We like to see current pictures and I’m sure you do to. So, make sure your do the same. You can keep facial pictures for your “friends only” or you can be much more out there if you like. Or you can choose to keep facial pictures out of your profile all together and reserve them to exchange in email with whomever you chose to.
You can even have some naughty pics from the internet that reflect some kind of fantasy that you want to fulfill as long as you don’t try to claim they are pictures of you. You might even consider creating a “Fantasy” picture folder if you have the whereabouts to do so and plant all of those pictures in that gallery.
Our profile is a constant work in progress; I even say it in the opening statement on our profile because honesty is the best policy. And why not be up front about such things. Making statements in your profile like “We don’t play in separate rooms” or “The Mr. only likes blondes” and other preferences are socially acceptable I suppose but, we prefer a more friendly approach. But, regardless of your technique, you owe it to yourself and others to be as up front and guileless in your profile as you can be. Doing some of these things minimizes the rick that you could waste your time and others on a venture that was not propelled by the right kind of fuel in the first place. In the same way it minimizes risk, it also maximizes pleasure. Once you find that just right couple to prance off into the bedroom with you’ll reap the rewards of taking your time to write a profile that is genuine, friendly, and inviting.
